Russian aircraft fly to dangerous depths: Ukrainian officer on enemy tactics in Bakhmut sector
Dmytro Kozhubenko, officer with the Rubizh Brigade, says that Russian air dominance is a big problem for the Ukrainian Armed Forces
He said this on Espreso TV.
"The situation in the Bakhmut sector, directly in the Chasiv Yar area, is very complicated. Russia is using a variety of tactics, not focusing on one thing. For example, if the Russians fail to launch frontal attacks, they use diversionary maneuvers on the flanks and then launch a main attack in the forehead. That is, the enemy never stands in one place," said Kozhubenko.
According to the officer, the invading Russian forces are combining attacks using artillery, FPV drones, and aircraft.
"At the moment, Russian aviation is a difficult element. Because the Russians have a significant advantage in aviation. Their warplanes are already flying at a relatively dangerous depth, which allows their FABs (500-kilogram general purpose air-dropped bomb with a high-explosive warhead - ed.) and guided bombs to destroy our positions more precisely. The enemy's dominance in the air is a very big problem. Because we have already learned how to fight with artillery and drones, they do not have such a high penetration capacity, while FABs and guided bombs have a very high penetration capacity, and it is virtually impossible to hide from them," explained Kozhubenko.
