Andriy Gota, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Centrenergo energy-producing company, told Interfax-Ukraine.

"All employees who were on shift during the shelling are alive," he said.

The hits caused a large-scale fire in the turbine workshop. The company is currently working to localize the fire.

On March 22, 2024, the occupation forces completely destroyed Zmiivska TPP in Kharkiv region, and on July 25, 2022, Russian troops occupied Vuhlehirska TPP in Donetsk region. Thus, Centrenergo company lost 100% of its generation.

Earlier, former MP Ihor Mosiychuk said that Trypilska TPP was allegedly on fire in Kyiv region.

"5:40 a.m., the city of Ukrainka, Obukhiv district, missile strikes (preliminary 3 hits) on the territory of Trypilska TPP with the subsequent fire in the engine room," he wrote.

In turn, the mayor of Ukrainka, Oleksandr Turenko, informed: "I ask everyone to close the windows tightly in their homes to avoid breathing harmful combustion products. Charge all your devices, ensure maximum water supplies! Both Points of Invincibility in Ukrainka are open around the clock. We have everything you need."

He did not specify whether he was referring to the fire at the Trypilska TPP.

Ruslan Kravchenko, head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, said that Russian terrorists had attacked one of the region's energy facilities, but did not specify which one.

"Currently, firefighters continue to extinguish the fire caused by the attack. It has been partially extinguished so far. All services are working in emergency mode. The maximum amount of equipment is involved," he wrote.

According to him, power engineers promptly supplied power to consumers using backup schemes. Water supply and sewerage in the affected community have also been restored. No other residential or critical infrastructure in the region was damaged.

Trypilska TPP in Kyiv region is one of the largest in Ukraine. The capacity of TPP is about 57%. Therefore, the power generating company is the largest supplier of electricity to Kyiv, Cherkasy and Zhytomyr regions.
