“Riot is brewing among civilians in Mariupol": official shares details
Petro Andryushchenko, councilor to the mayor of Mariupol, reported that residents in one district have been left homeless despite promises from the occupiers to compensate for their destroyed property
He shared this on Espreso TV.
"Probably the main news from the temporarily occupied Mariupol is that a massive riot is brewing in the entire city district. People are preparing appeals to Putin and other officials. The center of the left bank district has been completely demolished, and now the Russians are starting to build mortgages there. This shows the reality in Mariupol. Unfortunately, the people of Mariupol are only now realizing this," Andryushchenko explained.
According to the mayor's councilor, people in Mariupol were left without housing.
"People are starting to see that it was a big deception from the beginning. The Russians promised compensation for lost housing, but the people of Mariupol have been left with nothing. They are now preparing appeals to Putin, but of course, it won't lead to anything," he added.
- On May 19, journalist Mykola Osychenko reported that in the temporarily occupied Mariupol, citizens still see destroyed houses, graves on the streets, and lawlessness.
