Fascizing Russia's lumpen poses threats to Putin himself - political scientist
Political scientist Andrey Piontkovsky explains that the Russian population's total support for the war poses a threat to the Putin regime as well
He expressed this opinion on Espreso TV.
“The fascization of the Russian lumpen poses a threat to Putin as well. We continue to wait for a huge number of Russians to come out for mass anti-war demonstrations. This will never happen. Because this is a totalitarian state. The leaders of the anti-war movement have been killed, imprisoned or expelled from the country. There is no party against the war in the political space there. Everything there has narrowed down to the so-called z-scum and supporters of the war. These supporters are already very disappointed with Putin and his inability to implement his program. For Putin, the most dangerous people now are not those who hate him for starting the war, but those who hate him for losing it. The arguments on their z-channels are very similar to Prigozhin's words,” Piontkovsky explained.
The political scientist noted that people in Russia are increasingly criticizing Putin himself.
"Prigozhin did not directly attack Putin but ruthlessly criticized the Russian Ministry of Defense - Shoigu and Gerasimov. This is how z-war correspondents operate today. There is also criticism of Putin, which is very dangerous for him," he added.
