He said this on the Espreso TV channel.

“One of the consequences of the strikes on Russian refineries was that on March 1 this year, Russia banned the export of certain types of oil products. If we talk about money, in 2023, Russia earned $75 billion from the export of petroleum products. It is clear that Russia will not be able to receive this amount in full this year. But it is a fact that there will be a significant loss of foreign currency that Russia needs,” Us explained.

According to the chief consultant of the National Institute for Strategic Studies, weekly fuel production in Russia has already dropped by 10%.

“This could lead to a shortage of fuel in Russia in a certain period of time. Russia has already banned exports. There is also talk that Russia will buy fuel from Belarus and Kazakhstan. And this is an additional pressure on the Russian budget, which already has a deficit,” Us emphasized.

  • On the morning of Sunday, April 28, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported the alleged interception of 17 drones over four regions of the Russian Federation that night. In the Kaluga region of Russia, they say that the UAVs went down near an oil depot.
  • On the night of May 1, drones used by Ukraine's Defense Intelligence Directorate attacked the Ryazan Oil Refinery. Russian Defense Ministry announces liquidation of 6 UAVs.

  • Ivan Stupak, a military expert and SBU officer in 2004-2015, noted that nothing is stopping Ukraine from destroying the Russian oil refining industry.
