Ukraine allocates additional UAH 1.89 billion to combat brigades for drones
Ukraine's Defense Ministry has allocated an additional UAH 1.89 billion to combat brigades for drone purchases
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported this update.
Specifically, 55% of the funds will go toward Mavic-type drones, including those with night vision, and 18% will be used to purchase FPV kamikaze drones.
The ministry also stated that significant amounts are allocated for reconnaissance UAVs, bombers, and spare parts.
"This implements Defense Minister Rustem Umerov’s directive in record time, ensuring combat units can procure additional UAVs through decentralized purchasing," the statement reads.
The ministry emphasized that this decision allows brigades to independently buy what they need for missions. Drones will be sent to the frontlines immediately.
In total, the Ministry of Defense's spending on drones this year will exceed UAH 100 billion, they added.
