Decisions on war in Ukraine are made in Beijing, not in Moscow - historian Czech

Historian and publicist Mirosław Czech believes that the decision to end Russia's military operations in Ukraine is made by China

He said this in an interview with Antin Borkovskyi, host of the Studio West program.

"The Americans are extremely persistent in saying that thanks to China, Russia has been waging this aggressive war for so long that without Chinese support in terms of equipment, finance, and some electronics and various devices for the military-industrial complex, Russia would not have had the resources to wage this war. And the Americans are very clear about this. Moreover, they are trying to persuade the Europeans to adopt this approach,"  Czech explained.

The historian is convinced that it is China that can end the war, because this is its Eastern games.

"There is an understanding now that the decision on the war in Ukraine and Russian aggression against Ukraine is not made in Moscow, but in Beijing, and the relevant references are addressed. And the messages are that Russia cannot win a war against Ukrainians for sure, and we will do everything to ensure that Ukraine wins this war. Very strongly. This is not a situation where Putin, greedy for petrodollars, thinks that Europe is weak, America is weak, we can challenge them - we have China behind us. So he has to describe everything to China in its hieroglyphics, not in understandable English. That is, these are different games - oriental games," the publicist concluded.

  • On February 26, Switzerland announced its intention to hold a summit on peace in Ukraine by the summer. The Kremlin says that organising such an event without Russia is "not serious and even ridiculous".
  • On March 18, Chinese Ambassador to Switzerland Wang Shihting said that China was considering participating in the peace summit organised by Switzerland at Ukraine's request.
  • On May 2, the Swiss Foreign Ministry said that Russia should take part in the Peace Summit, as "a peace process without Russia is unthinkable". However, Moscow was not invited to the event this year.
  • On May 31, it became known that Chinese representatives would not participate in the Peace Summit in Switzerland on June 15 and 16, as Russia does not approve of it.
