Explosion on Russian-occupied Novopetrivka training ground yields great results, official says
Deputy Chairman of the Berdiansk District Council, Viktor Dudukalov, discussed the potential consequences of the explosions at the landfill near the village of Novopetrivka in the Berdiansk district, which took place on September 3
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
He stated, "The consequences are definitely serious, and there are 100% fatalities. The training ground is situated between Novopetrivka and Kulykivka village. This site has been in use since the early days of the occupation—though not from the very start, it was taken over by the invaders around six months after the occupation began and has been in constant use ever since. They conduct exercises there almost daily, with a significant number of personnel present and ammunition being regularly brought in for these drills."
According to the locals, there were four explosions.
“According to locals, they heard at least four explosions, though there was some confusion about whether these were direct hits or something being shot down. It seems that drones were involved, and they likely struck personnel, as ambulances and emergency workers rushed to the training ground immediately afterward. It’s evident that there were personnel present, but I have significant concerns about the ammunition. There was no information about any explosions involving ammunition, but that doesn't mean it wasn't hit; it's possible I just haven't been informed. What’s clear is that the personnel at the training ground were injured,” he said.
He also noted that he is waiting for more accurate information on whether officers were present at the time of the explosions.
The explosions at the training grounds on September 3 were reported by Petro Andriushchenko, an advisor to the mayor of Mariupol.- News
