"Zaluzhnyi could turn army against Kyiv": fakes and manipulations by foreign media on February 6
Ukraine's Centre for Countering Disinformation has published several fakes and manipulations produced by foreign media on February 6
This was reported by Espreso.TV.
According to the Centre for Countering Disinformation, on 6 February, foreign media published a fake and two major manipulations.
Manipulation: The Chinese media Asia Times wrote: "Why did Nuland run to Kiev? Almost certainly the White House told her to get herself over there immediately in case things went south in Kiev. There was apparently real worry that Zaluzhny might turn the army around and use it to go after Zelensky."
Manipulation: "No serious person can discuss what happened in that region (Ukraine - ed.) without addressing NATO’s expansion eastward, despite promises made by our government officials that we would not, following German reuinification. Putin signified this reason in virtually all of his speeches leading up to and after the invasion," American blogger Candace Owens wrote on X.
Manipulation: "I don't think it (Western financial support for Ukraine) will do anything but increase, intensify and deepen corruption in Ukraine," said retired US Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson.
- On February 6, Russian Telegram channels started spreading a new fake claiming that Ukraine's state Oschadbank had started blocking clients' accounts for failing to appear at the Territorial Centers for Recruitment and Social Support (TCR) (military draft offices - ed.).
