Russia significantly increases number of offensive, assault operations in southeastern Ukraine
For the second day in a row, there are about 50 combat engagements between Russian and Ukrainian troops in the Tavria operational area in Ukraine's south
The commander of the Tavria operational and strategic grouping of troops, Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, reported this update.
“Russian forces have significantly increased the number of offensive and assault operations - for the second day in a row, the enemy has been conducting 50 combat engagements daily," he wrote.
According to him, more than a dozen Russian soldiers surrendered over the past week.
Russian army also carried out 100 air strikes in the operational area of the Tavria Operational and Strategic Grouping within seven days.
"Most of them were guided aerial bombs and most of them were dropped by invading Russian forces in Donetsk region," Tarnavskyi added.
On 26 January, Russian forces launched 2 missile strikes from S-300 systems at Myrnohrad and Novohrodivka, and made a total of 714 artillery attacks. Russia's total losses amounted to 385 people and 21 pieces of military equipment, including 6 tanks, 9 armored personnel carriers, 3 vehicles and 3 pieces of special equipment. In addition, 230 UAVs of various types were neutralized or destroyed, said the commander of the Tavria Operational and Strategic Grouping.
