Russia bet on major economy militarization, spending oil money on weapons — military expert Zgurets
Defense Express analyst Serhiy Zgurets said that today the Russian government is completely reformatting the economy, directing all funds to increase the capacity of the military-industrial complex
He told about it on Espreso TV channel.
"Today, Russia has relied on the complete militarization of the economy. Actually, all that is important for Russia is the war. All their economic efforts, oil and gas revenues are aimed at strengthening the military-industrial complex. Russia is directing more and more people and forces to this end. Indeed, this approach differs from the situation in Europe. Although Europe's economy is 20 times larger than Russia's, Europeans do not focus their efforts on the military component," Zgurets explained.
The analyst noted that Europe is increasing the production of ammunition and weapons.
"European companies that produce weapons and ammunition are operating in the usual format. These companies have increased production volumes. At the same time, the pace of the European economy is already noticeable. In particular, a number of European companies have increased their ammunition production. They are expected to produce more than 1.2 million rounds of ammunition per year," he added.
- On April 1, Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman Ivan Varchenko said that Russia does not have the capacity to produce more missiles than it spends, so it needs a break to restore its missile capabilities.
- Earlier, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, Kyrylo Budanov, said that Russia used Kh-101 cruise missiles instead of "calibers" because they are more effective. However, during this time, the Russians have accumulated "calibers" that are ready for use.
