Russia deploys fresh forces: Rubizh Brigade unit commander on Bakhmut direction
Colonel Serhiy Sidorin, commander of the 4th Battalion Tactical Group of the National Guard of Ukraine, notes that Bakhmut remains one of the hottest spots on the contact line
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
"Bakhmut remains one of the hottest spots on the contact line. The area of Bohdanivka is the hot spot, where the enemy has approached the outskirts of the settlement and has established itself there. However, the settlement is under the control of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. The enemy has also deployed fresh units, trying to advance to the village of Ivanivske. But over the past week the enemy has not been successful in this area," noted Sidorin.
The commander of the Rubizh brigade unit also added that Russia’s aviation activity in the Bakhmut direction has decreased, but the use of artillery and attack drones has significantly increased.
"The enemy was also unsuccessful near Klishchiivka and Andriivka. The frontline has not seen any changes for a week. The invaders are trying to conduct assault operations from the direction of Kurdyumivka to push our units behind the railroad, but are unsuccessful. The enemy has suffered losses and is waiting for new units," Sidorin emphasized.
- Over the last week of 2023, Russian troops have been attacking in all areas of the frontline, especially focusing on the areas where the Ukrainian Armed Forces were successful in the summer - Bakhmut and Robotyne.
- Over the past day, January 3, the Ukrainian Defense Forces eliminated 780 Russian soldiers, destroyed 28 artillery systems and 21 Russian armored vehicles.
