Russia can restore traffic on Crimean Bridge no earlier than autumn 2023 - British intelligence
Russia will be able to fully restore traffic on the road and railway sections of the damaged Crimean Bridge no earlier than September 2023
This is reported by the British Defense Ministry on Twitter.
British intelligence notes that Russia's efforts to repair the damaged Crimean Bridge are continuing, but it is unlikely to be fully launched until at least September 2023. On November 8, the road bridge was supposed to be closed to replace the 64-meter span. It is needed to restore three more spans to replace the damaged road sections.
While officials claimed that these additional spans would be installed by December 20, a Russian dictator Vladimir Putin briefing indicated that work on another roadway would lead to traffic interruptions by March 2023.
The damaged section of the railway bridge was planned to be replaced by September 2023, but the Russian authorities promised that the repair would be accelerated. Now there is only one track open there, so the movement of railway transport remains limited. Repairs in winter will be highly dependent on weather conditions.
"The attack on the Crimean Bridge disrupted Russian logistics supplies to Crimea and southern Ukraine and reduced Russia's ability to move military equipment and troops by rail or road. Damage to the bridge, the recent attack on the Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol and the likely withdrawal from Kherson complicate the ability of the Russian government to paint a picture of military success," the British intelligence service concluded.
