Reparations cannot help us forget about the victims

An earthquake resulting in a terribly large death toll does not make the war seem prettier – on the contrary, it emphasizes how vile and horrid it is. We are already vulnerable and helpless in terms of uncontrolled natural disasters, and to consciously make life even more difficult with controlled disasters is horrible. 

A person's life, their body and psyche are incredibly fragile and vulnerable, despite all physical fitness and body armor. And anyone who knowingly commits an act of taking or harming a person's life is the foulest criminal.

I have always been taken aback by the idea of compensatory damages after fatal traffic accidents – how can you convert a life to currency and compensate for it? What is the actual exchange rate?

That is why no amount of reparations will cover for what has been lost. This is the biggest Russian crime. A crime of those who were behind all of this.

Human life is the most valuable thing, and one must be inhuman not to understand or deliberately ignore it. Dozens of causes for this war are not worth even one life that it took.

The whole country lowered itself into the sewer of inhuman existence voluntarily and the smell will not wear off for centuries. The whole nation smells like death now – rancid and disgusting.

It will be impossible for them to wash it off.
