Putin won't talk to journalists live for fear of catching infection
Russian President Vladimir Putin won't communicate with journalists in the usual format due to the risk of catching an infectious disease
The spokesman of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, said this, Russian media report.
He explained the decision by concern for the health of the head of state and pointed out that the coronavirus is mutating.
“Honestly, it is unlikely that it (communication with journalists - ed.) will be completely the same as it was before the pandemic (coronavirus - ed.). You see that the mutation processes are going on, and so on. You see how strong the epidemiological waves of flu of different strains are, and so on,” Peskov said.
“To expect that it will soon be as it was before would be wrong. I will answer: it will not be. But as the waves go to their lowest point along the sine wave, then, of course, it will be possible to communicate more freely,” he added.
