Putin cosplays Russian tsars. And this is good...
Putin, his entourage, and Russians themselves have been striving for the restoration of tsarism for a quarter of a century
Putin is a tsar!
He has always dreamed of being one. And the longer he was in power, the less he hid it.
A watchful eye could not help but notice that he and his entourage have a long and strong fascination with the late Russian Empire.
We have all seen this imperial-state "Mikhalkovschina" (a term derived from the last name of Russian film director and Putin’s friend Nikita Mikhalkov, who supports invasion of Ukraine – ed.) for a long time, which at some point captured the information space and the minds of the Russian establishment (which has only one head – Putin's). His political idols were Alexander the Third and Nicholas the Second. And recently it turned out that the three "chief advisors" of today's Russian tsar are Ivan the Terrible, Peter the Great, and Catherine the Great.
“For a quarter of a century, Putin, his entourage, and the Russians themselves have been striving to restore tsarism. They wanted the return of the beautiful imperial Russia of the past (of course, a fictional Russia). Russians wanted a tsar!”

The funny thing is that many Russians quite calmly combine nostalgia for the USSR and nostalgia for the Russian Empire in their minds today. And this is, of course, schizophrenia. Great-power Russian schizophrenia.
So, I very much support this tsarist cosplay of Putin and his attempts to wear the imperial crown and be a tsar. Because I know very well how it usually ends.

The grandfather of the last Tsar Nicholas II, the master of persecuting Ukrainians, Alexander II, was killed in an assassination attempt, his legs blown off by a revolutionary bomb.
His son, Putin's idol, Alexander III, was assassinated several times, but died of the effects of chronic alcoholism.
And Nicholas II, whose reign began with a mass stampede on Khodynka field in Moscow, who lost two wars and brought the country to collapse, was shot dead in a dirty basement with his family.
Yes, Alexander III, to whom Putin has the most references in his activities, died his own death. But with his actions he laid the foundation for what his son completed – the foundation for the collapse of the Russian imperial regime.
So I wish Putin to share and surpass the fate of his predecessors. And end up like his idols. In a dirty basement. In a country that is burning and bleeding.
But with a small bonus. So that this Russian monster will never rise again. So that it can never "get off its knees" again.
The empire must die...
