Protection of sky: system created for Ukraine will hit various air targets - international political scientist
International political scientist Volodymyr Volya said that Western partners will help Ukraine protect its infrastructure from devastating attacks by Russian missiles, and the countries are already planning to send modern anti-aircraft systems.
He told about this on the Espreso TV channel.
"The protection of the Ukrainian sky will significantly improve. It is about creating such a complex system for the protection of Ukrainian airspace. For this purpose, Ukraine is provided with various anti-aircraft systems. We see that the USA promises to provide NASAMS systems in the coming weeks. We see that missiles are provided to them in particular by Great Britain. In other words, they decided to put together a more or less adequate air defense system for us, adequate to the air threats that exist for us from the Russian Federation. The one that was during a large-scale missile and air strike on the territory of Ukraine," Volodymyr said Will.
The international political scientist noted that a number of countries, such as France and Germany, are also ready to provide their modern air defense systems to protect Ukraine.
"In addition, I understand that the time perspective for the provision of some shorter-range complexes is still unknown. France promises to give some for shooting down aircraft at low and medium altitudes. I think that in the next month at least something will be provided. We know that the Ukrainian military is training at the Aspide complexes in Spain - this is air defense. It is possible that Germany will also provide, in addition to the IRIS-T SLM, which according to its obligations must be delivered in October, but the Gepard may also be there. That is, now we see that they are trying to create an integrated complex system that will be able to hit various air targets - cruise missiles, drones, etc.," he noted.
