Prigozhin's assassination: first conclusions
The turmoil is getting closer. And it will be very cruel
1. One of the decisions made following Prigozhin's mutiny was to give Shoigu and Gerasimov until September to show results. If there was no result, Prigozhin would return on stage, but with the team of the Minister of Defense and the Chief of the General Staff. Thus, the murder of Prigozhin means that Shoigu and Gerasimov failed, and they had no other options.
2. Clearly, Prigozhin and Utkin had taken precautions in anticipation of a potential assassination attempt. So there will be a response, but we’ll have to wait and see what form it will take.
3. They will try to present Prigozhin's death as just, a consequence of his actions. But now the "military bloggers" are confused, torn between expressing sympathy or advocating for his assassination.
4. The situation in Russia is not showing signs of stabilization; rather, it is worsening. The pact established in June following the mutiny has been breached, indicating to the various factions and groups that agreements do not work. Therefore, assassination attempts will become more frequent
5. I think Shoigu and Gerasimov are now targets.
6. The turmoil is getting closer. And it will be very cruel.
