According to him, the air defense systems sent to Ukraine were quite effective in intercepting Russian missiles, "NASAMS had a "100% success rate".
Austin added that the US would work with Poland to gather more information about the blast.
On November 16, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland officially announced the strike by a Russian-made missile and summoned the Russian ambassador.
Later, the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, said that there were no signs that the rocket falling in the Lublin Voivodeship was a deliberate attack on the country.
US President Joe Biden told G7 and NATO partners that the missile explosion in eastern Poland was caused by a missile from the Ukrainian air defense system.
Lloyd Austin reported that the United States, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic are working together to transfer modern tanks to Ukraine.
