On Ukrainian front, active hostilities will continue for 2-3 months - Ukraine’s intelligence
Active combat operations on the front will continue for the next 2-3 months. Additionally, an assessment of Russia's capabilities will be conducted in mid-summer, allowing for a possible forecast of its actions in the autumn-winter period
This was stated by the Deputy Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Vadym Skibitskyi in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
He shared his assessments regarding the course and development of the military campaign in the near future.
"Let's not make predictions for the entire year. I can say this: there will be active combat operations in the next 2-3 months. Both offensive and defensive in nature, because our strategic goal and objective are the liberation of all our territories," noted the Deputy Chief of the General Staff.
According to him, the Russians will still attempt to accomplish the tasks necessary to claim whether they have completed their "special military operation" or not. Therefore, Ukraine will focus on the mid-summer period to determine whether the adversary succeeds in their plans for modernization, regrouping, and the formation of new units and formations, as their restructuring takes place.
"For example, the Russian command has already officially announced the restructuring and restoration of the Leningrad and Moscow military districts. After this, it will be possible to assess the capabilities of the Russian Federation and forecast the possible nature of Russia's actions in the autumn-winter campaign," added Skybytskyi.
As of the morning of June 23, Ukrainian soldiers have halted the advance of the Russians in the Kupiyansk and Lyman directions, while continuing their offensive operation in the Melitopol and Berdiansk directions, achieving partial success.
