No major events - Roman Vlasenko comments on possible attack on Svatove reservoir dam
If Russian forces blow up the Svatove reservoir dam, south-eastern part of the city and the surrounding area will be flooded, but there will be no major events
This was stated by the head of Severodonetsk district military administration Roman Vlasenko on Espreso TV channel.
"We all know the terrorist methods of the Russian troops, so we can not exclude such measures on their part. Judging by the analysis of local experts on ecology and water resources, there is no great threat in this," he noted.
Vlasenko added that the volume of water in the Svatove reservoir does not exceed the limit. The gateways are set up that way.
"If this happens, the streets near the dam will suffer and all the water will go into the river bed, which is nearby. There will be no large-scale, tragic events. I think it will not affect the course of hostilities in any way. The northeastern part of Svatove and the surrounding area will be flooded. This will not significantly affect the progress of our soldiers," Vlasenko concluded.
