Nikopol suffers most from psychological crisis, not from humanitarian one - local official
Main pressure felt by residents of Nikopol district of Dnipropetrovsk region is constant anxiety, when people have seconds to hide from shelling
Dmytro Bychkov, head of Nikopol District Council said this live on air of the Espreso TV channel.
"Nikopol suffers the most not even from humanitarian crisis, but from psychological one. Nikopol and the district are a place of constant anxiety and everyone already understands perfectly well, they have learned to count to fifteen. When artillery shells are launched from Zaporizhzhia NPP, there are only 10-15 seconds for residents to hide in some improvised bomb shelter when they are caught outside," he said.
According to Bychkov, this psychological pressure is very exhausting for people.
"Such shelling can happen when a person is in public transport, in the market, in the street and on the playground. At night, people simply understand that they must stay in their houses, follow the rule of "two walls" and, if possible, stay in a bomb shelter during serious shelling of Nikopol and district," head of the local district council concluded.
