New Russian units create logistical problems for Ukrainian forces near Bakhmut
Leonid Polyakov, a senior lieutenant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and an officer of the Legion of Freedom, noted that the Russia sent new Special Forces units to the Bakhmut area, which are to be used to work in the deep rear
He said this on the Espreso TV channel.
"The situation in the Bakhmut sector is not easy. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are advancing slowly but steadily. In the direction of Khromove and Bohdanivka, the advance is complicated by the fact that the enemy has built a fairly serious defence there. The fact is that the enemy's firing points are located on the heights. It is difficult for the defence forces to advance there, but they are making progress. In the direction of Klishchiyivka, Russia is trying to regain lost ground, but is suffering heavy losses," Polyakov stressed.
According to the Legion of Liberty officer, the Russian forces have deployed Special Forces units to the Bakhmut sector, which are supposed to be used for work in the deep rear.
"This indicates that the enemy lacks infantry and skilled forces to conduct offensive operations. The enemy's SAS units are trying to influence our logistics. Recently, these units attacked our equipment. These units are trying to create logistical problems for the Ukrainian Armed Forces," Polyakov said.
- Oles Malyarevych, sergeant of the 92nd separate assault brigade named after Ivan Sirko, noted that the initiative in the Bakhmut sector is on the side of the Defence Forces.
- There were 78 combat engagements in the frontline over the last day, and the enemy continues to shell civilian objects and localities in Ukraine.
