New Estonian government coalition promises comprehensive support to Ukraine
Estonia's new governing coalition has promised comprehensive support for Ukraine and Ukrainian refugees.
ERR reported the news with reference to the text of the coalition agreement signed by the Reform Party, the Motherland Party (Isamaa) and the Social Democratic Party.
"We will support Ukraine at all international levels, including Ukraine's efforts in NATO and the EU," the text of the agreement reads.
In order to cope with the number of Ukrainian refugees, the government will support local governments and try to ensure the availability of Estonian language learning and education for Ukrainian children in Estonian schools.
"We will create a program to support the return of Ukrainian refugees home, guarantee them the opportunity to maintain contact with their linguistic and cultural space, and support the restoration of the destroyed regions of Ukraine," the document says.
Estonia also supports the continued economic isolation of the Russian Federation at the EU level, including a complete ban on the transportation of Russian goods by road, rail and sea.
