Russian troops forced to move their headquarters further away from frontline - Ukrainian major
Ukrainian National Guard Reserve Major Oleksii Hetman says that Ukraine's Armed Forces are already influencing the Russian army's actions
He expressed his opinion on Espreso TV on June 12.
"The Ukrainian Armed Forces are already impacting Russian actions. The Russian forces now have to move their headquarters further from the front line. Previously, they were positioned close to the front. While it's still theoretically possible to control troops from 100-150 km away, it becomes almost impossible at 200-250 km. This is no longer an effective command,” explained Hetman.
He emphasized that the goal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is to keep Russian forces under fire control.
"We need to negotiate with the U.S. to get permission to use missiles with a range of 250-300 kilometers. We need the Russians to move all their command and control communications equipment and other essential resources as far away as possible. While it’s possible to control operations from a distance using phone or radio, someone from the headquarters needs to be present. There are specific operational requirements for this,” noted Hetman.
