Military aid for Ukraine: Borrell counts on EU leaders' support
Josep Borrell, EU High Representative, calls on EU leaders to support the new tranche of military aid provision to Ukraine.
He stated this on October 7 in Prague before the start of the second day of the informal EU summit, Ukrinform reports.
"I will ask the leaders to support the allocation of a new tranche for the European Peace Fund to continue providing military support to Ukraine, and also for the training mission. I hope that by the next Council of Foreign Ministers (October 17, - editor) we will have proposals from both of these directions" - Josep Borrell emphasized.
According to him, energy issues will be discussed at the meeting of the European Council. The high representative of the EU noted that the topics of security and prosperity should be interconnected.
"The sources of our wealth, which are related to energy prices, should go hand in hand with questions about our security, in which Russian aggression against Ukraine is very important," he noted.
