Man is killed as result of Russian night shelling of Kharkiv region

"On 26 December, at about 02:30, a private house was damaged as a result of a shelling of the village of Podoly, Kupyansk district. Rescuers found the body of a man under the rubble," the statement said.

Also, over the past day, Russian forces wounded another civilian. Thus, a 63-year-old resident was wounded in the village of Pishchane, Kupyansk district. He was taken to a medical facility.

In total, the Russian army fired artillery and mortars at more than 15 settlements in Kharkiv, Bohodukhiv, Chuhuiv and Kupyansk districts of the region.

Legal proceedings have been opened over violations of the laws and customs of war.
