Lithuania’s aid to Ukraine amounts to approximately EUR 700 million
Lithuania is ready to provide Ukraine with about EUR 600 to 700 million in military aid.
Lithuania’s Prime Minister Ingrid Šimonite shared the information in an interview with Ukrinform.
"The amount of support provided may lie between EUR 600 to 700 million. But it is difficult to name the exact number, especially when it comes to military aid, which amounts to about 1/3 of the provided funds," she said.
As for military aid, according to Šimonite, it is difficult to calculate the amount equivalent to the arms transferred.
"We examined our reserves and gave you all we could. But how do we evaluate these resources? Is it by accounting records, or by residual value, or by their replacement value? So the exact number is not the main thing here. Indeed, there are things that can be easily estimated, such as money transferred to the World Bank or the National Bank of Ukraine, resources to support displaced persons or some other projects, for example, the Fund for Ukrainian refugees who are currently in Lithuania," the Prime Minister explained.
According to her, Lithuania is doing its best without competing with other countries in terms of the provided aid.
"Everything that we can give to Ukraine today, we give," emphasized Šimonite.
