Lithuania to supply Ukraine military aid
Ukraine is to receive from Lithuania ammunition for 155-mm artillery. Lithuania will also fulfill a contract of manufacturing winter clothes for Ukrainian soldiers over a month.
Arvydas Anušauskas, the Defense Minister of Lithuania, announced this on Facebook.
"Regarding the next military support, it has already been decided - ammunition will be transferred for the 155-mm artillery, which is desperately needed at the front line," he said.
The Defense Materiel Agency under the Ministry of National Defense of Lithuania concluded contracts with manufacturers to restore these stocks. The minister says there will be more support to Ukraine, but they can't announce all of the items.
Also, within a month, Lithuania will fulfill a contract with manufacturers of winter clothing for the Ukrainian army.
Moreover, the Lithuanian minister announced signing contracts for 2023 with a business that produces military equipment needed by Ukraine. According to him, if the manufacturers are ready and able to increase their production potential, they will supply Ukraine with necessary equipment.
"Lithuania will also contribute to the international fund for financing heavy armored vehicles, their production or modernization and acquisition. So, if anything, there will be tanks handed over to Ukrainians at our expense," Anušauskas Noted.
Additionally, Lithuania will extend its military training courses for 1,500 Ukrainian soldiers. Current military personnel undergoing training will not be taken into account.
