Latvia to purchase drones and SUVs for Ukrainian Armed Forces with the funds collected for "Bayraktar"
Latvia will spend the collected funds on "Bayraktar" for the purchase of tactical unmanned aerial vehicles and SUVs for Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The Embassy of Ukraine in Latvia reports.
In total Latvians collected more than 900 thousand euros.
"In view of the current military situation, as well as the duration of fundraising within the framework of this project, its organizers and participants offered to use the collected donations for the purchase of 45 Latvian-made tactical drones and 15 off-road vehicles for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which can be ready to be sent to in the near future," the press service of the embassy explained in a statement.
Shipping is expected to be possible soon after purchase.
Ambassador of Ukraine Oleksandr Mishchenko and Minister of Defense of Latvia Artis Pabriks called for the purchase of the mentioned tactical drones and SUVs for the Ukrainian army right now during the press conference.
Pabriks, during his speech, emphasized that Latvia will continue to support our country in the fight against the Russian aggressor until the complete victory of Ukraine.
