Kyiv region cannot switch to stabilizing power outages: head of regional administration describes situation
Kyiv region, which was hit by Russian missile fire on December 5, cannot switch to stabilization schedules of power outages
Oleksiy Kuleba, the head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, announced this on the air of the telethon on December 8.
"Kyiv region is consistently short of receiving 30% of electricity. Currently, we have only 70% of the required capacity. This leads to the fact that more than a third of the household consumers in our region are in permanent power outages. We have a working group that operates in local communities where there is no electricity for more than 15 hours. Together with energy specialists, we are trying to respond to this," he said.
The official noted that there are about 2,500 multi-story buildings in the region that are connected to the central heat supply. And when there is no light for a long time, the boiler rooms cool down. At the same time, according to Kuleba, the situation in Ukrainka, where there is currently no heating at all, is difficult. They are trying to provide more electricity there to compensate residents for the lack of heat in the batteries.
"Kyiv region was very badly affected by rocket attacks. We have a serious shortage of electricity in the network. This leads to the fact that, unfortunately, we cannot yet go to planned blackouts. That is, now there are emergency power cuts in the region," Kuleba summarized.
