Kissinger and emptiness
Those who try to impose their "correct and reasonable" recipes from 1954 on Ukraine, or left-wing pacifist interpretations of far from peaceful history, are perfectly aware of the emptiness of their words
At the risk of being accused of ageism, although I myself am already beyond the limit, which can potentially make me an object of mockery by younger people :)), I will speak categorically and simply. Ukrainians should not take into account the reflections of the patriarch of world and American politics, Henry Kissinger, as the 99-year-old (!) politician reminds of his existence from time to time.
When I hear his next apocalyptic predictions, I remember the old “pioneer song”, which is also probably half a century old: "Old old man, it doesn't matter to him." So, once again pronouncing his Urbi et Orbi about the Russian-Ukrainian war, Kissinger realizes that he will in no way be responsible for these, let's say, prophecies or recommendations. Well, let's consider the age and time horizons that Mr. Kissinger mentions. He really doesn't care…
“So, once again pronouncing his Urbi et Orbi about the Russian-Ukrainian war, Kissinger realizes that he will in no way be responsible for these, let's say, prophecies or recommendations. Well, let's consider the age and time horizons that Mr. Kissinger mentions. He really doesn't care…”
Under the pretentious title of Kissinger's column in The Spectator, "How to Avoid World War," a logical trap is already disguised. The world war is going on, so trying to pretend that it is not is to mislead both yourself and your readers. Conspiracists who attribute to the American head of the foreign policy department participation in the Club of Rome ("world government") have grounds for yet another fantasy.
Since Kissinger is talking about avoiding a world war, it was probably not included in the plans of the "global scheming party of the rich", which began quite unexpectedly, and its scenario was decisively adjusted by the Ukrainians. Because of this, the author of the column is forced to admit that Ukraine “became a great state for the first time in history.” But at the same time, he again falls into a logical fallacy, declaring that “the result of the negotiations between the parties is the final confirmation of the freedom of Ukraine” (italics by me - Author).
Well, the "final confirmation of Ukraine's freedom" happened more than 30 years ago, and the respected author of a doctoral dissertation in political science, defended in 1954 at Harvard, quite possibly could have missed this fact... But it seems that this is just another confirmation of the professor's strange thesis, — about other people, which is truly macabre in its essence. Kissinger once said that "people who have been persecuted for two thousand years are doing something wrong." To be honest, the phrase is on the verge of fascism…
"Kissinger once said that “people who have been persecuted for two thousand years are doing something wrong.” To be honest, the phrase is on the verge of fascism…"
And about Russia - some secret "love" of Kissinger - was written, it seems, in the same year. As the final point of the concept of peace, the ex-state secretary defines the preservation of the Russian Federation as a strong state, since, in his opinion, it has historically "made a decisive contribution to global balance and equilibrium" (italics by me - Author). Russia made a decisive "contribution to global balance and equilibrium" on February 24, 2022, completely destroying the concept of these notions in the world. Now, returning to this balance is very expensive for the world community, and the Ukrainians (who are apparently "doing something wrong") are paying for the restoration of the pre-war status quo and for their independence, unknown to the American visionary until now, with the blood and hecatombs of victims.

By the way, Pope Francis, a little younger than Kissinger, who also often says absolutely amazing things from the point of view of logic and common sense, finally recognized the war in Ukraine as a world war. “This is a world war. We will not forget about it. Many hands are stirring the cauldron of war. It is global.” But, despite this, without a doubt a refreshing insight, Jorge Mario Bergoglio unexpectedly revealed to the surprised public that the cause of the world war was... the West. In particular, his predatory nature and desire to conquer the weak and exhausted. “I think war starts when the empire starts to weaken. And when there are weapons to be used and tested and sold. There's a lot at stake.”
What can be said in response. What I started with. Those who try to impose their "correct and reasonable" recipes from 1954 on Ukraine, or left-wing pacifist interpretations of far from peaceful history, are perfectly aware of the emptiness of their words. Because they will not bear responsibility for them. They don't care that one day, a hundred years from now, a certain historian will call them philistines and, in fact, provocateurs. Regardless of the passage of time and their earthly existence.
Of course, you can appeal to the Court of God. But today it is better to simply ignore what the patients of the geriatric sanatorium try to pass off as revelation.
