Russian forces strive to reclaim lost ground in Kharkiv region — Ukrainian officer
Oles Malyarevych, deputy commander of the 92nd Brigade's Achilles battalion, noted Russia's attempts to put pressure on the Kharkiv direction in order to regain the lost territories
He shared the information on Espreso TV on June 11.
"The 92nd Brigade has been stationed here since the start of the attempted re-occupation of the Kharkiv region. In May, the situation stabilized. Recently, Ukrainian Defense Forces have been conducting assault and attack operations, reclaiming some territories, including near the village of Hlyboke. However, the Russians are now strengthening areas they've captured, showing they want to hold these territories rather than seize others," Malyarevych stated,
He noted that Russian troops have relocated a motor rifle regiment to the Vovchansk area.
"Right now, the Russians are trying hard to retake their lost positions by attacking Vovchansk. There's constant fighting along the whole frontline, 24/7. The Russian forces are pushing to get back the territories they lost," Malyarevych explained.
- Since the beginning of June 11, 37 combat clashes took place in the frontline as of 10:00 am. In the Kharkiv direction, a Russian attack in the direction of Vovchansk is currently underway.
