Imitation of madness in Medvedev's style will not save Putin from the tribunal - Poroshenko
Petro Poroshenko, former President of Ukraine, says that no one has expected such a level of cruelty and barbarism demonstrated by Russian troops in Ukraine
Poroshenko stressed that nothing would save Putin and his henchmen from the international court.
"I did not expect Bucha, I could not believe it was possible. I did not expect Mariupol, I definitely did not expect what was happening all over the country. Now, when I was in Izium, when I was in Balakliya, nothing surprised me. But back then it was a shock for me. I think that a large number of Western leaders did not expect this level of Russian barbarians. And it is not only Putin and his criminal entourage. These are Buryats, Chechens, Russians who raped and killed innocent civilians," Poroshenko said.
"The consequence of this is a very important and significant decision of the G7 leaders. It is a fateful statement that the whole world, all the great powers have started working on the creation of a large tribunal over the Russian inhumans. It is emphasized that Putin must be held accountable for these crimes. Imitation of madness in the style of Dmitry Medvedev will not save him from responsibility. But those who are the perpetrators of this crime must be also held accountable," the former president emphasizes.
Poroshenko also noted that one should not be afraid of Putin, but one should not underestimate the military power of the aggressor state.
"Do not be afraid not only of Putin, but also of Russia. But I would like to emphasize that we should not underestimate the military power of Russia. Stop talking about the fact that Russian troops are untrained pathetic mobilized who are very easy to deal with. It is not so, it is a strong, armed, fierce army. And the more heroic is the feat of Ukrainian soldiers. We are different from them, we are different in our motivation, because we defend our people, our land and the whole world. And they do not know what they are doing here, poisoned by Russian propaganda," Poroshenko emphasized.
