“I know I can beat this enemy. But I need resources”: head of Ukraine’s armed forces on how many tanks, artillery Ukraine needs
To reach the lines of February 23rd Ukraine needs at least 300 tanks, 600-700 IFVs, and 500 Howitzers, General Valerii Zaluzhnyi says
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi stated this in an interview with The Economist on Thursday, December 15.
“We have enough people, and I can clearly see what I have. I have enough. I don’t need hundreds of thousands more. We need tanks, we need apcs [armoured personnel carriers], infantry fighting vehicles. And we need ammunition,” he said.
According to the head of Ukraine’s armed forces, the military is able to liberate all the Russian-occupied territories, but Ukraine needs heavy weapons and military equipment.
“I know that I can beat this enemy. But I need resources. I need 300 tanks, 600-700 IFVs, 500 Howitzers. Then, I think it is completely realistic to get to the lines of February 23rd,” Zaluzhnyi said.
