German prosecutor's office investigates leak of secret information about crimes in Bucha
The German prosecutor's office is investigating the leak of classified information about the Russian mass murders in Bucha.
The German publishing house Bild shared the news.
In early April, Germany's Federal Intelligence Service held a closed-door briefing for members of the Bundestag and senior government officials about the Russians' crimes in Bucha. Some of the information was supposed to remain strictly confidential, but it appeared in the mass media.
"There are procedures in which the Bundestag administration appealed to the prosecutor's office. We are studying them," said a representative of the agency.
German prosecutors have launched an investigation into treason.
"Members of parliament must realize that the release of secrets is not an ordinary offense and it can lead to extremely serious consequences," said the head of the Bundestag's defense committee, Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann.
