German Armed Forces Association Chairperson opposes transfer of Bundeswehr weapons to Ukraine - media
The Chairperson of the German Armed Forces Association, André Wüstner, says that due to the lack of sufficient suitable military equipment in the German Armed Forces, the country should stop supplying it to Ukraine
This was stated by the Chairperson of the German Armed Forces Association, André Wüstner.
"We perfectly understand Ukraine's desire to obtain heavy weapons. We can well imagine, for example, the supply of infantry fighting vehicles from our industrial reserves," he said.
According to him, weapons will no longer be sent to Ukraine, because each supply leads to a weakening of the Bundeswehr.
Wüstner said that "many in the Bundeswehr fear that such a policy of further cannibalization of our troops will have negative consequences," particularly for Berlin's commitments within NATO and the training of German military personnel.
"Therefore, our demand is this: no new supplies from the Bundeswehr's arsenals. And, no less important, the immediate acquisition of those weapons systems that have already been transferred!" - he emphasized.
