In Makiivka, Donetsk region, a Romani family of 8 people, including 3 children, was shot dead. The locals assume the crime has been committed by drug-motivated  Wagner mercenaries, but the "authorities" have detained local repeat offenders

This was reported by Russian media and local Telegram channels.

The murder was reported on the morning of December 27 by the self-proclaimed mayor of Makiivka Vladislav Klyucharov, but he did not provide any details.

Local Telegram channels immediately reported that there were children among the dead. All were killed by shots in the head. Later, it was added that the crime was committed by members of the Wagner group, who hoped to buy drugs from the dead. However, the announced price appeared to be too high to them, which led to the shooting. Another motive, according to local media, could be ethnic hatred.

Russian occupation authorities of the city were surprisingly quick to solve the crime.

"On December 26, at 9:15 pm, Chervonogvardeisky District Police Department of Makiivka received a report about the discovery of 8 bodies, including 4 minors, in a household. A Skoda car was stolen from the yard," the "DPR Interior Ministry" reported.

The “ministry” stated that "3 previously convicted residents of the Kalininsky neighborhood were detained on suspicion of murder.” They have already testified and stated that they committed the mass murder for mercenary motives.

However, the version of the “authorities” is contradicted by the stories of the murdered family’s relatives. The father of the deceased woman said that there had been no robbery, nothing was missing in the house, and the owners were still wearing gold jewelry. The killers took only the family car. The man managed to speak with the "investigator", who confessed that 5 adults and 3 children had been killed by the monsters for no reason; they were not sane.

Mariupol Mayor Pavlo Andryushchenko confirmed that according to the data he received, the Russian military were involved in the crime:

"There is a logical assumption about the involvement of Wagner mercenaries, but it is just an assumption... Having spent almost the whole night monitoring public sources and working with insiders with our team, we can say that the murder was indeed committed by several non-humans in military uniforms. However, as Mariupol under occupation has seen before, Russians, as always, cover crimes committed by Russians."
