EU do its best to ensure people have access to heat. Necessary equipment is already on its way to Ukraine
The EU will help Ukraine cope with energy crisis by providing necessary equipment to replace the one destroyed by Russian army
European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson said this in the interview with Radio Liberty.
"In many cases, it's not a question of funding, but a need for very specific machinery and equipment, which is the problem. Energy community and my services reach out to companies that may have this equipment in stock, and we've already had some positive responses. Therefore, first transformers are on the way to replace those destroyed by Russian drones or missiles", she said.
According to her, employees of Ukrainian companies are "doing miracles" by carrying out repair work even under the fire, but stability of energy system will depend on whether Russians will not continue to conduct attacks.
"There are many unknowns while war continues. But we are doing our best to ensure that people have access to heat, even if it means only temporary generators instead of stable external transformers", Simson emphasized.
