Establishing corridor to Transnistria is impossible for Russia - Kovalenko
Oleksandr Kovalenko, a military-political observer, said that to seize territories in Transnistria, Russians do not have logistical capabilities to provide such a large front with necessary amount of special personnel and ammunition, equipment and others
He spoke about this on the air of the Espreso TV channel.
"The goal of seizing the territory in Transnistria was from the very beginning of a full-scale invasion, but as we see, it came to naught on the border of the Kherson and Mykolaiv regions. Even then it was obvious that the logistical capabilities of the Russian invaders were not sufficient to provide such a large front with the necessary amount of both a special composition and ammunition, equipment and others", the military observer noted.
Kovalenko noted that the Russians are almost not active in combat operations in the Mykolaiv region, from which they were forced out, but are active in missile and artillery shelling on the Mykolaiv region and now on the civilian infrastructure in Odesa.
The military observer explained: "Missile attacks are limited, modern missiles are becoming scarce, but the Soviet stock remains, which is also limited. Ukrainian air defense continues to work, the Russians did not manage to destroy air defense in the Odesa region, so they have a difficult situation with security and the necessary amount of resources in the southern bridgehead to cut through a corridor in Transnistria. In my opinion, this is impossible".
Oleksandr Kovalenko added that the plans to seize territories in Transnistria were the Russians' bravado, designed for the domestic Russian consumer.
