This was reported by Ukraine’s Air Force, which also noted that Russia used far more missiles and drones to target Ukraine's critical infrastructure than in previous years. A lot of these were decoys.
The Air Force explained that these tactics were meant to overwhelm Ukraine’s air defense systems.
Russian aircraft also dropped tens of thousands of guided bombs on frontline Ukrainian towns and villages.
In total, Ukraine’s air defense destroyed over 1,300 missiles, 1,200 attack drones, and 3,200 reconnaissance UAVs. The military also shot down 40 Russian planes and 6 helicopters.
