The Ukrainian Air Force reported this.
From 8:30 p.m. on December 31 until the morning of January 1, the Russian forces launched 111 Shahed-type drones and other UAVs against Ukraine. These were deployed from Bryansk, Orel, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Crimea.
The attack was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare teams, and mobile fire groups from the Air Force and Defense Forces of Ukraine.
By 9:30 a.m., 63 drones had been confirmed destroyed in the Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Zaporizhzhia, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Kirovohrad, and Mykolaiv regions.
Additionally, due to active countermeasures, 46 Russian drone simulators were rendered ineffective, while two UAVs returned to Russia and Belarus.
- Fragments of Russian drones fell in several areas of Kyiv overnight, damaging houses and injuring civilians.
