'Division of labor' makes sense: Scholz explains why Germany won't supply tanks to Ukraine
Germany emphasizes the supply of anti-aircraft defense and artillery
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz told the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung about this.
"I immediately said: we will not act alone and will closely coordinate our actions with our allies. The situation is changing. I also coordinated with Biden the supply of rocket launcher systems to Ukraine," Scholz said.
That is why the Federal Republic of Germany ensures the supply of heavy weapons to Ukraine — Gepard anti-aircraft self-propelled guns, rocket launchers, and Panzerhaubitze 2000.
"As chancellor, I broke with a long-standing tradition that made such supplies impossible," Scholz said.
"We are doing what is necessary and correct. But a certain 'division of labor' makes sense. Germany can emphasize the supply of air defense and artillery," the chancellor added.
