Croatian news outlet Jutarnji reported on the situation.
The online newspaper informs that Croatia’s resources for maintenance of some helicopters will run out next year, so the transfer of equipment is "the most rational solution." According to the publication, Soviet and Russian-made helicopters will be taken out of service by 2026.
These helicopters are inferior to the newer models from NATO, due to the lack of devices and equipment for operational interoperability.
The publication notes that the Croatian government plans to replace the transferred Mi-8 with Black Hawk helicopters, which the country plans to purchase from the United States.
