"Indictments have been sent to the court against the deputy head of the Department of the Federal Service of the National Guard of the Russian Federation for the Chechen Republic, as well as the commander of the 249th separate motorized battalion "South" of one of the brigades of the North Caucasian District of the National Guard of the Russian Federation," the message reads.
Prosecutors established that in March, under the leadership of one of the defendants, the Russian and Chechen military seized the Borodyanka psychoneurological boarding school.
The occupiers tortured patients and staff - they forbade them to leave, deprived them of food and water, and near the medical facility they placed multiple rocket launchers from which they fired at other settlements and positions of the Armed Forces: "Patients and staff were used as human shields."
