Blinken says US will help build "Ukrainian military of the future"
The United States will continue to support Ukraine and help it build the army of the future with modern air defence, armoured vehicles and its own munitions production.
This was stated by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Reuters reports.
According to him, the army of the future includes "a modern air force, integrated air and missile defence, advanced tanks and armoured vehicles, the national capacity to produce ammunition, and the training and support to keep forces and equipment combat ready".
At the same time, Washington will encourage other countries' initiatives to end the war if they comply with the UN Charter.
"We will support efforts – whether by Brazil, China, or any other nation – if they help find a way to a just and lasting peace," Blinken said.
Nevertheless, Washington will continue to support Ukraine militarily, as a prerequisite for effective diplomacy is that Kyiv is able to deter and defend itself against any future aggression, Blinken said.
Earlier, Blinken said that NATO countries will try to increase the capacity and success of Ukraine's air defence.
