Biden to hold video call with allies on further support for Ukraine - Bloomberg
US President Joe Biden will hold a video call on Thursday with allies, focusing on the next steps to support Ukraine against Russia’s invasion.
This was reported by the Bloomberg agency with reference to sources.
Biden will lead a video call late Thursday morning Washington time. The leaders of the Group of Seven (G7), NATO, and the EU will take part in the meeting. It is not announced who else will join the conversation.
The agency points out that a similar video format was used in the early months of the war, and Biden is reviving it as the seven-month mark of hostilities approaches.
Biden sought to maintain unity in support of Ukraine. His conversation with the leaders comes in a week when the government changed hands in the UK, and Liz Truss became the Prime Minister, who is positioning herself as a hawk in the confrontation with Russia.
The video conference will take place against the background of Ukraine's continued offensive against Russian troops and the preparation of the Russian President for a meeting with the Chinese leader for the first time since the beginning of the war in February.
