Biden is ready to negotiate with Putin if Russia demonstrates will to end war in Ukraine
US President Joe Biden said he is ready to negotiate with Russian President Vladimir Putin if he shows interest in ending the war in Ukraine.
Biden said this at a press conference after meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, Radio Liberty reports.
According to a Reuters publication, Biden noted he would conduct such negotiations in consultation with NATO allies. However, a conversation with Putin is not yet on his agenda.
According to the Voice of America, following the meeting, Biden and Macron issued a statement strongly condemning Russia's illegal and aggressive war against Ukraine. They emphasize that deliberate strikes on civilians and civilian infrastructure are war crimes, the perpetrators of which must be brought to justice.
