Best end to the war “negotiations, not Ukrainian victory” - Slovenian foreign minister
The Slovenian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tanja Fajon, says the best way to end the Russian invasion is negotiations, not a victory of Ukraine.
She stated this in an interview for European Pravda.
As noted, Fajon claimed that she "heard the position that Ukraine should win" in the war with Russia, but the diplomat did not support this scenario.
Instead, she said that "the war must stop," but that, in her view, it would have to happen, for example, through "grain agreements".
"I would like to see something like an agreement on the beginning of grain exports. Maybe this is a symbolic agreement, maybe it is a step... We hope that the first ships will leave. Because this export is really important not only for Ukraine, but also for overcoming the food crisis in the world", Fajon said.
She also noted that the conclusion of this "agreement" showed that negotiations with Russia are possible.
"I'm not saying - now. The Ukrainian side should decide on the terms - when is the time to sit down and start negotiations", Fajon clarified her position.
At the same time, Fajon is convinced that as long as Ukraine needs military equipment, Europe should continue to provide support.
