"Azovstal remains heart of resistance and our pain": adviser to Mariupol Mayor about the Russia's attempts to seize territory

According to him, the bombing and shelling from heavy artillery did not stop even on April 24, when Orthodox Christians celebrated Easter. Despite public statements about the cessation of the offensive, the Russian invaders again tried to enter the factory territory with sabotage groups, but failed.

 

Petro Andryushchenko said that the invaders, together with collaborators, try to create the illusion of restoring life.

 

"In addition to Easter services in two churches of the Moscow Patriarchate (one in the central district near the Drama Theatre), Russians announced the creation of a zone of safe compact settlement in Mariupol. According to their information, in the Primorsky district of Mariupol, those residents who left the city or temporarily live on the coast will be settled in the surviving private houses", he wrote.

Also, the invaders' "police" began to work in the city. Former police officers are required to report for duty.

 

According to the adviser, to justify their own inconsistency in the final occupation of Mariupol and the assault on Azovstal, the Russians spread fakes. They report that supposedly Ukrainian oligarchs ensure the presence of private armies in Ukraine and attract new ones.

 

"At the same time, Pushylin made a statement that there are at least 400 foreign mercenaries on the territory of Azovstal. Despite the fact that only yesterday on the eve of another assault attempt they massively spread information that only up to 100 Ukrainian military remained in Azovstal. Common sense and banal mathematics has never been a thing for Russians, but even here they beat themselves", Andryushchenko added.
